World Music online residential, July 2020

We had a wonderfully creative weekend during our World Music online residential in July 2020. Our top tutors Ruth Hopkins, Tymoteusz Jozwiak (K’antu Ensemble), Paul Sartin, Jon Sterckx and Dr Trevor Wiggins inspired our students with their knowledge and expertise in South American influence, English folk, Indian and African music. Thomas Brooman CBE also gave a fascinating overview of the early days of WOMAD Festival.
Thank you to everybody who took part in the showcase event and participated in our online Q&A hosted by Thomas Brooman, Simon Emmerson and Najma Akhtar. Congratulations also to the quiz winners and to everybody who performed in the always fabulous open mic night! This online ‘non-residential’ was a fabulous first, thank you one and all.
