Jonah Hitchens
Since leaving South West Music School, Jonah has been studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance doing a Jazz Performance course. Jonah says “this is great because I am constantly surrounded by people that inspire me and make me want to become a better player, much like SWMS. Being in London has given me a much broader perspective about all the things that are out there and has given me many opportunities to watch and play music in a lot of great ways.”
As well as studying, Jonah is also making progress with his own band and they have recently released their second E.P. Most of the band (which includes other South West Music School graduates) are studying music also and are involved in many other projects as well. Jonah says “this is good because we use the knowledge that we get from everywhere else and bring it together into this pot of musical inspiration. We are looking forward to playing many gigs and festivals already booked for next year.”
