Ben Wilkinson

After studying on the South West Music School Composer programme, Ben left to further his skills elsewhere. Since leaving, Ben has written music for theatre, including a production of ‘Moonfleece’ by Phillip Ridley in the Salberg Theatre of the Salisbury Playhouse. He has also written a number of works, including a Christmas piece originally written for ‘The Invitation Theatre Company’, and a piece for Jazz Sextet.

Ben has written a number of arts reviews as a freelance journalist for both the ‘Gazette and Herald’ and ‘The Wiltshire Times’, including for productions of ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ and ‘Seussical: The Musical’. Ben is currently part of an up and coming jazz band project named ‘Reeds and Keys’, which he wishes to further in the future.

In late November 2015, Ben was accepted onto the Undergraduate Composition Course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and he will be commencing with this in September 2016.

Ben has also been continuing to develop his acting alongside this, and was cast in a production of ‘One Man Two Guvnors’ at the Studio Theatre in Salisbury in September 2015.
