When did you join South West Music School?
When I was 10.

What do you play?
I sing and play the violin, trombone and piano.

When did you first get into music and what inspired you to do so?
I guess I first got into music was when I joined my church choir when I was six. I had always enjoyed singing at home with my mum and she told me about it and I was all for it.

Who/what are your musical influences?
My singing teacher, Barry Rose, influences me.

What would you say has been your biggest or most favourite achievement to date?
Winning Young Chorister of the Year 2014.

What do you enjoy about being part of South West Music School?
You get to make music with other people who take music as seriously as you do.

Helena’s singing teacher, Dr Barry Rose says “Over the past five years it has been a delight to work with Helena and see her gradually mature into an accomplished singer in so many different styles. Always enthusiastic and diligent about her singing, Helena has that rare and innate understanding of how to paint to words, which makes her such a gifted and communicative performer.”
